Scenic Mountain Biking
JUSTIN CARRIER

How I Got Started

In 2013, Justin got his start leading outdoor trips for the country's oldest collegiate outing club: the Dartmouth Outing Club. In 2016, Justin moved to Colorado to lead multi-week backpacking trips across the West and Southwest. In 2021, he founded Vagabond Guru to help other's pursue outdoor passions in an economic and cost-effective way.

Justin has been lucky to plan travel to 40 countries on 6 continents. Within the US, he has explored 49 states, 25 national parks and has trekked to the summits of 40 14,000+ ft peaks including the highest peaks in both Colorado and California. He is an expert in navigating the National Park’s complicated permit system for some of the country's best hikes including the Half Dome cables, Sequoia’s Mt Whitney, the Grand Canyon’s Bright Angel trail, High Cascade's Enchantments and Rocky Mountain’s Longs Peak.

Besides experience in hiking, camping, backpacking, mountain biking, bike touring, mountaineering, canoeing, overlanding and rock climbing, Justin is also a certified Advanced scuba diver with PADI, a Wilderness First Responder and a volunteer with Colorado Fourteener’s Initiative.
